When visiting Franschhoek, it is clear why the French Huguenots decided to settle here. This small town still has its unique French je ne sais quoi.
The main street is lined with boutiques, award-winning restaurants, bakeries, art galleries and souvenir shops. The whole town turns white, blue and red for the annual Bastille Festival in July.
We would definitely recommend taking the Franschhoek Wine Tram and visit the locals’ favourite wine farms, such as Leopard’s Leap, Grande Provence, La Bourgogne, Le Lude, Dieu Donne, Maison and many more!
You can also go for picnics at Allée Bleue, Solms Delta and Boschendal, just to name a few.
For the history lovers, there are the Franschhoek Motor Museum and Huguenot Memorial Museum.
